The Redzone Leadership Academy is set to kickoff its football-specific off-season training program beginning 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, December 8th at the Going Vertical facility located on 10700 Sapp Brothers Rd. The sessions are tentatively scheduled to run twice a week on Tuesdays and Sundays through the month of July.
Over the past few years of its existence, the locally renowned off-season training program, founded by former University of Nebraska at Omaha standout wideout and star professional arena football player Yano Jones, has seen numerous top Nebraska high school athletes take advantage of the training sessions overseen by Redzone’s outstanding Mentors (trainers). Even more impressive is that a significant number of its participants have gone on to earn D-1A football scholarships. Four Redzone alumni, Kansas University’s Tim Biere, who played high school ball at Omaha Westside; Iowa University’s Shaun Prater, Omaha Central; Nebraska’s Niles Paul, Omaha North and former Iowa Stater and current Ohio University player Phillip Bates, Omaha North have made significant on the field contributions with their respective college programs–as freshmen.
I have personally attended numerous Redzone training session and have witnessed how many of its participants improved their skills, and consequently their on field high school performances. So if want want to get quicker, faster and more athletic regardless of your position and have the opportunity to train alongside some of the best high school football players in Nebraska and Iowa–as well as with some Redzone alumni, who are currently playing college football–make sure to attend some Redzone training sessions.
Remember, It’s never too early to get a start on developing your football skills. Redzone has participants as young as six-years-old. So parents and guardians, if you have a youngster interested in playing football, I highly recommend the Redzone Academy as a place where they can begin to hone their football skills and get a head start on the competition.
