MHN End-of-Season Top 25 Nebraska High School Football Prospects: Class of 2011

The MHN End-of-Season Top 25 Nebraska High School Football Prospect ranking is the third in a series of four class rankings (Preseason, Midseason, End-of-season and Final) that we provide for each Nebraska high school graduation class.

The end-of-season ranking places significant weight on a prospect’s senior year performance, while also realizing that the ultimate determinate of an athlete’s perceived potential is the attention that the athlete receives from colleges based on actual offers.

End-of-Season Prospect Ranking

Here is what that means when it comes to the End-of-Season ranking: Having an offer is not a mandatory requirement to be on the list, nor does the level or quantity of offer(s) always preclude that an athlete with a higher level offer or more offers is automatically ranked above someone with a lesser level offer or fewer offers. It’s an athlete’s senior year performance along with his perceived potential to play at the next level that is being calculated.

Final Prospect Ranking

The last ranking for the class of 2011 will be based on what the colleges decide. The Final ranking will place significant weight on actual offers and the level of those offers (D-1A, D-1AA etc…) The Final prospect ranking will be released the Monday after National Letter of Intent Signing day on February 2, 2011.

Finally, keep in mind that the vast majority of scholarship offers have yet to be made. Between now and February 2, 2011, D-1AA, D-II and NAIA schools will begin to offer the bulk of their scholarships. There may also still be one or two more D-1A offers out there to be had.   So Far there are eight Nebraska high school football players holding at least one D-1 offer, with Millard West’s 6-1, 250, DT Brandon Yost being the latest recipient (Ohio).

You just never know what may happen over the next three months.  The end of the recruiting cycle never ceases to amaze!

1.   Zach Sterup, OL (6-8, 260) Hastings St. Cecilia Catholic	Rivals 4 star–rated 27th best O-lineman in nation.  Big, talented, agile athlete with tremendous upside has at least 16 D-1 offers, also a top basketball prospect. Committed to Nebraska.
2.   Ryne Reeves, OL  (6-3, 300) Crete	Rivals 4 star–rated No. 5  center in the nation quick with very good pad level feet and hands, Early commit  to Nebraska.
3.   Ted Lampkin, ATH (5-7, 159) Omaha Central	Rivals 3 star–explosive athlete with 4.37 speed, has potential to become a game changer at the next level. Committed to Iowa State.
4.   Cole Fisher, LB (6-3, 190) Millard North	Rivals 3 star–big hitter with great frame and good speed and strong football bloodlines.  Committed to Iowa.
5.   Daniel Davie, DB (6-0, 185) Beatrice	Rivals 3 Star–very good speed and nice size can play both sides of the ball. Committed to Nebraska.
6.   Jimmie Forsythe, QB (5-11, 180) Omaha Burke	Rivals 2 star–most dominate offensive skill player in the class, good speed and vision with potential to be a force at the next level on either side of  the ball.
7.   Derrius Vick, QB/ATH (6-2, 180) Lincoln Southeast	Rivals 2 star–naturally gifted athlete with good frame also a top D-1 basketball prospect.
8.   Nate Skold, OL (6-8, 280) Omaha Westside	Rivals 2 Star–good  run blocker with a lot of frame to grow into.
9.   Brandon Yost, DL (6-1, 250) Millard West	Tough, strong and quick off the ball D-lineman with good feet and decent hands. Has offer from Ohio.
10. Tiras Bolton, ATH (5-11, 170) Omaha Westside	Has outstanding quickness and very good speed and burst, could develop into a nice playmaker on either side of the ball at next level.
11. Derek Chancellor, OL (6-5, 290) McCook	Earth mover with good frame and room to grow.
12. Tyler Shields, WR (6-3, 200) Kearney	Great athlete with good speed and size, perhaps the best pure WR prospect in the state. Also a top basketball prospect. Averaged 87 yard a game receiving  with 15 TDs.
13.  Tyson Broekemeier, QB/ATH  (6-1, 170) Aurora	Best passing QB in the state and quality athlete. completed 72.38% of passes for over 1,850 yards and 27 TDs only 3 INTs.
14. Richard Wynne Jr., RB (5-8, 176) Creighton Prep	Strong and  durable late bloomer with good speed, quickness, vision and nice hands, a fierce competitor that can play either side of the ball. Rushed for over 1,400 yards (7.1 yards per carry) in 9 games.
15. Nehemiah Wilkins, ATH (5-11, 190) Boys Town	Explosive athlete with very good speed 4.42 and nice size.
16. Quentin Urban, ATH (5-11, 185) Millard South	Talented athlete with the skills to be effective on either side of the ball.
17. Eddie Collins, ATH (5-7, 165) Millard South	Top return specialist in the state–has great burst and speed.
18. Ben Muff, LB (6-1, 200) Crete	Rivals 2 star–solid backer who flows well to the ball.
19. Brock Sherman, LB (6-0, 223) Crete	Rivals 2 Star–solid playmaker with good leverage and angles to ball.
20. Ryan Wheeler, LB (6-4, 244) Millard North	Good frame and size could play the middle or strong side OLB.
21. Ryan Randall, RB (6-0, 190) Blair	Tough, strong durable back can be a force in the right system.
22. Will Sailors, OL (6-4, 250) Lincoln Northeast	Nice motor, good feet and pad level.
23. Jordan Wisdom, DE, (6-2, 235) Millard South	Strong late bloomer that has good quickness off the ball and flows well in traffic.
24. Josh Couch, DB (6-1, 175) Millard North	Playmaker with nice size and range.
25. Devin Bass, DB/ATH (5-10, 172) Millard North	Hard-nosed football player with good quickness-quality athlete who can play both sides of the ball.
