This year the NCAA football National Letter of Intent Signing Day falls on Wednsday, Feburay 3, 2010 . That means there are 48 days left from today before the high school football class of 2010 is pretty much finalized. Currently, there are four known Nebraska high school players that hold D-1A offers: Andrew Rodriguez, Tyler Evans, Jake Cotton and Bryce Dietz.
Five other Nebraskans in the class of 2010 are known to have received D-1 AA offers: Jese Hinz, Yusef Wade, Christian Dudzik, Kyle Emanuel and Nick Mizaur. There is no doubt that others out there have D-1AA, D-2, NAIA and junior college offers; however, at this time we can only supply the verified information listed on our Board below.
The latest Word: myHitNews has learned that Omaha Northwest RB Antaries Daniels, Rvals.com’s No. 2 rated Nebraska recruit in the class of 2010, has received an offer from Iowa Western Community College. In addition, Super-State and All-Nebraska first-team WR Glenn Lewis has also reportedly been offered by Iowa Western. Finally, word has it that Lincoln North Star’s Bryce Dietz may be wavering on his commitment to Ohio U–the big fella is wanting to stay closer to home.
Any More D1-A Offers Coming to Class of 2010?
myHitNews is aware of about a half dozen players that are still being seriously considered for D-1A offers and and are continuing to be monitored and evaluated. Their fates will be determined by whether or not the schoo(s) showing interest in them can land the prospects they have rated higher and or whether or not a decommit or two will open the door for them.
Recruiting is a funny thing: “it ain’t over until it’s over.” Last year, we saw Central’s Daryle Hawkins get a very late offer from the Oregon Ducks. when one of their recruits decommitted at the last moment. Coaching changes also bring a another unpredictable element to recruiting: Creighton Prep’s Scott Criss received a late offer last season, shortly after the head coaching change at Wyoming. The odds are that there is–at least–one more D-1A offer on its way to the Nebraska class of 2010.
