Hot Nebraska High School Athletes |
Michael Wickham, JR, Bennington—this class of 2012 WR prospect is listed at 6-3, 180. On Tuesday, Wickham sprinted to season’s best times of 10.80 in the 100 meter and a 22.10 in the 200 at the Plattsmouth Invite. Got to keep tabs on this big fella, because anyone that big who can move that fast is—one to watch! Last season—as a sophomore—Wickham was a Class B qualifier for the state meet in the 100 and the 400; he also posted Nebraska high school football’s third most receiving yards (202) in a game during the 2010 season. Wickham is listed on the MHN Class of 2012 Nebraska HS Football Prospect Board, but he is not listed on our 2012 20 players to Watch List, headed into the NCAA class of 2012 evaluation period that officially begins on April 15 and runs through the end of May. Nonetheless, Michael Wickham has now become a de facto member of that list. And depending on his continued track success and how he grades out through the evaluation period, he could very well make it onto the various national rankings as a top ten Nebraska high school fooball prospect for the class of 2012. T.J. Schindler, JR, Blair—is another class of 2012 football prospect starting to raise more eyebrows at the right time. The 6-2, 280, DL/OL prospect threw for a season’s best 56’ 10 1/2” in the shot put at the Logan View Invitational. Nehemiah Wilkins, SR, Boys Town—the reigning Class B state champion 110 and 300 meter hurdler busted a PR 14.30 in the 110 HH—a season’s best and one of the better Nebraska times posted in the event, over the last several years. Wilkins also ran a near season’s best 40.40 in the 300. Question: “Can the Northwest Missouri State football recruit run a sub 14 second 110 and/or sub 37.94 300 to make it onto the all-time best chart? |

I saw Wickham run in Plattsmouth, what an athlete. From a physical perspective he has all the tools to be a decathlete, but football it will be.
