I’ve been talking for several years now on the importance of highlight videos for athletes. Now ESPN and YouTube are about to make it a customary formality an athlete to have one. The following is an excerpt from their press release: “ESPN and YouTube on Wednesday (Sept. 8 ) will launch a joint promotional campaign, Your Highlight, which will encourage viewers to submit top amateur sports highlights—the best of which will be showcased on SportsCenter.” Video: Here is link to a very nice high school football video production, produced by the Oklahoma High School Sports Express, featuring a few of the top Oklahoma high school football prospects from the class of 2011. One of recruits is 6-foot-8, 230lbs QB that also has some crazy basketball stats: averaging 28 point 19 rebounds and 6 block shots per game! Link: Oklahoma High School Sports Express Video. Late last April, boxer Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather jr. claimed to be the greatest fighter of all time–better even than Muhammad Ali–while being interviewed by on-air sports talk personality Jim Rome. Check out the video interview and see what MHN affiliate Darin Allen had to say about that. Link: Floyd Mayweather |
