Clara Nichols Wins Girls 400 Meter at Kansas Relays and Climbs All-Time Chart
3 Nebraskans Bring Home Kansas Relays Gold
Breaking News: Millard South’s Clara Nichols ran a PR and season’s best time of 55.71 to win the Kansas Relays Girls 400 meter held at Kansas University’s Memorial Stadium, located in Lawrence, KS. The winning time moves Nichols from 10th to No. 6 on Nebraska’s all-time chart. Nichols also finished 4th in the 100 meter finals with a time of 12.33.

Hastings senior Brady Rutt, Nebraska’s reigning all-class gold discus thrower, took home a Kansas Relay championship on Saturday by winning the Boys Discus with a season’s best toss of 173’ 10”. On Friday, Rutt’s 55’ 4.25″ heave in the shot put was good enough for 4th place. Omaha Burke junior Michelle Wallerstedt’s toss of 139′ 11″ took 1st prize in the Girls Discus. This past Thursday, Michelle improved her season’s best whirl to 153′ 2″ at the Norfolk Invite.
