This weekend is the start of the big push for colleges to lock up their recruiting classes: Over the final three weeks of this year’s cycle, there will be a lot of prospects taking visits to campuses and college coaches making phone calls to parents, athletes and high school coaches and taking visits to homes. Listed below are the offers and commitments MHN is aware of thus far. We realize that , there are a lot more D-II and NAIA offers out there and even a few more D-1AA offers, but these are all that we can confirm at this time.
Class of 2010 Football Recruiting Notes
Bronson Marsh will be visiting Lincoln this weekend, and according to a source, the Huskers are set to offer him at least a gray shirt. We shall soon see if that is the truly the case.
Congratulations to Omaha Burke standout class of 2010 football player Chris Lucido. Chris was the recent recipient of the Greater Omaha Sports Committee 2009-2010 Fall Student Athlete Award in the Sport of Football. The award recognizes the top student/athletes in the Omaha metropolitan area for their classroom achievements as well as for their performances in their particular sport.
The guest speaker at the Greater Omaha Sports Committee event was John Hicks—one of the greatest offensive tackles to ever play the game. Hicks won both the Outland and Lombardi trophies in 1973, while playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Hicks was so dominate that– as an offensive tackle–he was runner-up to the Heisman Trophy in 1973. As a kid growing up in Columbus, Ohio, I watched him play in the “Horseshoe.” I can still remember some of the crushing blocks he put on defenders.
For you youngsters to relate to just how good he was: Back in the day, John Hicks was as dominate a man-child on offense as Ndamukong Suh was this year on defense.
I wonder if Lucido and the rest of the award recipients understood how special an athlete their guest speaker was.

Reeves the OL from Crete because he already has NU offer. Urban, Millard South and Fisher Millard North look like the best prospects. Fisher might have trouble since he tore his knee up playing basketball this year.
