University of Texas at El Paso recruit Brianna McGhee (pictured here on her way to all-class gold in the 200m at the 2010 state meet) claims yet another spot on the all-time chart in 2012 with a 19-43/4 long jump.
A generous mix of good athletes, coaches and weather have all made for a strong start to the 2012 Nebraska high school track and field season. In fact if this pace continues and the weather remains cooperative—we may see more all-time chart performances than any of the past four seasons that MHN has covered.
Below is the current listing of the active Nebraska athletes on the track and field all-time charts as maintained by the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star newspapers.
As we head into the final month of the season all the athletes currently listed on the chart are all more than capable of advancing up further before season’s end. Even more impressive is that there are a number of individual athletes and relay teams—more than any other year in the past five seasons—so tantalizingly close to landing a spot on the chart.
No wonder so many Nebraska high school track and field athletes are finding their way onto D-1 track programs around the country.
